“I, _____________, understand that during this clay unit, I am expected to behave in a respectful, encouraging, trustworthy, responsible, careful, and mature manner at all times during Art class. I also understand that if I choose to behave in a disrespectful, discouraging, dishonest, irresponsible, reckless, or immature manner, I will immediately be assigned a detention (no questions, no appeals). If I choose to continue to act inappropriately, I understand that I will lose all clay privileges for this unit and be referred to the office.”
Rules
Listen to and obey all daily instructions.
Don’t be foolish, reckless, careless, and immature (throwing or stealing clay is prohibited).
Be careful, clay is messy and stains clothing; therefore, food and cell phones are prohibited.
Keep your clay to yourself (hands specifically, not your face, mouth, ears, or toes… or your neighbor’s face, mouth, ears, or toes).
Don’t touch or manipulate the clay of others.
Clay remains in the Art Room.
Tools, not toys
Conserve.
Clean up your person, tools, and area.
Clay cannot go down the sink so basins of water are available to wash clay off hands and arms.
Give your best effort. Be considerate of the feelings of others.

Clean Up Procedures
1. Place extra clay (big and small) into the designated bag on the teacher table. Spray water in the bag.
2. Store your coil pot. Put a wet brown paper towel inside your pot. Place your coil pot on the designated shelf.
3. Clean your tools in the basins only and return them to your table tray.
4. Wipe down your table using the spray bottles and rags.
5. Wash your hands (basin, sink/soap, & dry).
6. Leave your apron/smock on your chair.
7. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
